At Period Y’all, we are dedicated to fighting period poverty in Kentucky’s Appalachian region and beyond. Founded by Skylar Davis, our organization was inspired by the incredible menstrual equity work being done by Change Today, Change Tomorrow and Jilly Pads in Louisville, KY. Recognizing the need for similar efforts in her hometown of Lancaster, KY, Skylar set out to address a critical issue: 1 in 4 menstruators struggle to afford period products, and this number is even higher in Kentucky. What began as a monthly pop-up distributing free menstrual products at the Garrard County Food Pantry has evolved into a multifaceted initiative: Stock the Schools: Delivering essential period products to over 200 schools across Kentucky’s Appalachian region. Advocacy and Education: Empowering communities to raise awareness and advocate for menstrual equity legislation. Community Outreach: Partnering with local organizations to ensure no one in our region faces period poverty. At Period Y’all, we envision a world where menstruators have equitable access to the products and support they need to live with dignity. Together, we’re breaking the stigma and building a future where no one has to choose between food and basic hygiene. Join us in the fight for menstrual equity!
